Ian Grossman Junior Open

► Bowl 8 Games across 16 Lanes ► Tournament Entry Fee Is $50.00 ► August 25, 2007 @ 1:00 p.m. TOURNAMENT RULES 1. All youth bowlers participating in the tournament must be sanctioned in a USBC league. Check in time is one half hour before the tournament starts if you are prepaid. Walk-ins are welcome but need to check in one hour before the start of the tournament. Tournament starts at 1:00 PM with 15 minutes of practice. Entries close at practice time. Sanction cards will be available on the day of the event. 2. This is a scratch and handicap tournament. The divisions are as follows: Scratch entering average of 200 and up. You may enter either division regardless of average. Handicap based on 90% of 200. All bowlers must have a league average verification. 3. During the tournament bowlers will not be allowed to smoke, or use foul language. No outrageous behavior will be tolerated. The first warning will result in a warning, the next offense you will be issued a fine, and the next time the bowler will be disqualified from the tournament. If a bowler is disqualified during or after competition has concluded, the bowler will be placed last. All fines will be put back into the scholarship and split equally among award positions. 4. Tournament Format: Bowl 8 games across 16 lanes moving one pair to the right after each game. All scores will be tallied and scholarships paid out at the end of the tournament. 5. Ties for the last qualifying position in any round will be broken by a 9th and 10th frame roll off with a sudden death ball by ball continuation until there is a winner. 6. The tournament is for scholarship money only. Tournament entry fee is $50: $32 to scholarship, $16 lineage and $2 expenses. Money will be distributed by division. A potential raffle off bowling balls, bowling shoes and bowling bags will be done during the tournament. ONLY ADULTS may buy raffles. Children are no longer aloud to receive a prize valued at more than $20.00 7. Tournament money will be awarded as follows: 1st place 35%, 2nd place 25%, 3rd place 19%, 4th place 13%, and 5th place 8%. Any 300 games bowled will receive a $50 bonus donated by Collins Bowling Centers. 8. All scholarship monies will be held with the USBC in a SMART account. The account # is _______________. Bowlers can not use the scholarship money until the First Semester of College or Technical School. Scholarship money can ONLY be used for college education, technical school, or bowling clinics. NO EXCEPTIONS unless approved by Bowling Headquarters. The money will be accumulated by the SMART Program and held until graduation from high school. 9. While bowling in the tournament, all bowlers must have their scores verified by an opponent on their score sheets. All scores not verified will be considered illegal and the bowler will be disqualified. 10. Only bowlers and scorekeepers are allowed in the bowling area during tournament play. All score corrections must be made or approved by a tournament official before they are made, and must be done in the frame they occur in. NO EXCEPTIONS. 11. All bowlers must be dressed in the proper manner. A clean shirt and presentable jeans are acceptable. No hats, jeans with holes in them or shirts with any off color sayings. Tournament managers will have the last say about proper dress. 12. All bowlers must use their highest USBC Youth or USBC average for the past season (2005-2006) with a minimum of 21 games or there current 2006/2007 with 21 games bowled. This includes all leagues from last season and summer averages will also be accepted. If your average in your current youth league is higher than last year, you MUST use that average. Verification of the bowler's average is their responsibility. Failure to use the correct average will be an automatic disqualification from the tournament. All changes to averages must be completed by the end of the first game of the tournament. All changes in average must be made by the end of the first game of bowling. Anyone whose average is 10 or more pins over last season's average must report this average at the time of registration for possible adjustment.
